Charlee Brotherton Named to Board of Professional and Certified Matchmakers

Recently the Matchmaking Institute and school of relationship sciences named Charlee Brotherton, Owner of the Singles Station dating company, to its Board of Professional and Certified Matchmakers. The Institute’s Matchmaking Certification program is a highly specified curriculum of classes put together to teach current and future matchmakers matchmaking skills. Matchmaking Institute’s intensive training includes specialized classes in areas such as screening techniques, behavioral communication and matching technique. The Institute was created in 2003 to set standards and a code of ethics in the matchmaking industry and to create a network of Certified Matchmakers.

Brotherton has been in the matchmaking business for over seven years. She acquired The Singles Station Dating Co. in January 2000 and has expanded the service to include six offices located in Tulsa, Oklahoma City, Bentonville, Fort Smith, Little Rock and Nashville. Plans for a seventh location in St. Louis are also underway. As a CPA, Brotherton immediately loved the concept of a matchmaking/dating service because of its quantitative, logical thought process. Taking an organized approach to meet the person you would spend the rest of your life with made sense to her. She believes, choosing the right mate is the most important decision you will ever make and accordingly employs a quantitative and successful method of helping singles meet their ideal partner.

According to Brotherton, “Most singles employ a haphazard approach to meeting singles. Singles spend more time thinking about the features they want on a new car, than the attributes that they are looking for in a life long mate.” Brotherton states that at the Singles Station they use a system that includes a 120-question personality profile to help their clients meet compatible singles with similar interests and core values.
